OUR TOP BOOK PICKS FOR YOUR CHRISTMAS WISHLIST

Posted on November 13 2023

In case you hadn’t guessed, we’re Christmas people, big time! This time of year is always filled with magic and excitement and BOOKS! We thought it would be fun to get our team to help recommend you some books for your Christmas wish list.

The Lost Bookshop, Evie Woods

If a magical book about books is your vibe, you’re going to love The Lost Bookshop. From the first pages this immediately grips the reader with characters with passions for books and a story that spans across multiple time periods.

Midnight in Everwood, M. A. Kuzniar

A nutcracker retelling with romance and so much wintery magic. This book is so perfect for this time of year, it is the type of story you can fall into for hours and not realise the time is passing.

The Sea of Tranquility, Emily St. John Mandel

This short but fantastic sci-fi also spans across time, from the past to the future with multiple different characters. This book talks about time and parallel worlds and the possibilities that come alongside this. This novel is incredibly compelling and follows characters across these timelines as their stories knit together.

Welcome to Nightvale, Joesph Fink and Jeffrey Craner.

This book was a fave of one of our team this year, is such a gripping mystery. You follow several characters and it's really satisfying and unusual with how they intertwine.

Creativity, Inc., Ed Catmul

This is an incredibly inspiring book written about Pixar, but almost like the company is personified and it’s a biography. You don’t have to be a creative person or business owner to enjoy the amazing story of how Pixar was built.

Assassin’s Apprentice, Robin Hobb

No awards for guessing who suggested this! Abby will sneak her all time favourite onto any list we let her - and for good reason! The first book in an indulgent fantasy series (see our reading guide here) will have you hooked from the beginning. A beautifully slow paced, winding story with characters that become your best friends for life. You’ll never be the same after reading the Realm of The Elderlings books.
